Hi, I’m Xu-Cheng He, 何旭成, an early career researcher studying atmospheric aerosols, clouds and their climatic effects. I’m currently a visiting researcher at the University of Cambridge and I’m also associated with the Institute for Atmospheric and Earth System Research (INAR) at University of Helsinki, where I completed my MSc and PhD degrees with Prof. Markku Kulmala.
My research combines state-of-the-art mass spectrometric methods with quantum chemical calculations to investigate and interpret atmospheric aerosol formation both from ambient observations and chamber simulations.
I’m currently working on a new project that uses the UK Unified Model to study the effect of particle formation in the climate system with a focus on introducing new mechanisms such as iodine oxoacid particle formation which has recently been discovered.
You can find me on: Twitter, ResearchGate, Google Scholar, WebofScience
My research is funded by Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation and the Academy of Finland.
